Should I buy an Inkjet or a Laser printer
If you need to print anything in colour, then buy an Inkjet printer. Not only is an Inkjet printer cheaper than a Laser colour printer, the results are superior. Laser is an acronyn for “Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation“.
If you only need to printer Black and White documents, then my recommendatin is to buy a Laser printer. A Laser printer produces sharper text and is also cheaper to run and faster to produce the prints. Another benefit is that you don’t have to worry about the ink drying out as is common with Inkjet printers.
To keep your Inkjet printer running properly, use it as least weekly to print something.
If you find that you are missing colours, then you should do a “Cleaning”. Do it three times only.
If that fails to restore the missing colours, then do a “Deep Cleaning”. Only do this once.
If that still doesn’t work, then do an “Ink Flush”. However please note that an ink flush uses a LOT of ink so make sure that the ink cartridges are not less than half full. Below is the cleaning procedure for a Canon printer. You can access these settings in the “Printer Properties” menu under the “Maintenance” tab.
