If you want to learn how to type start by putting your left fingers on the A S D F keys and your right on the J K L : keys.
These keys are called the “home keys”.
You’ll notice that the F and J keys have a ridge on them. This is to help you park your left and right forefingers (the one that you point with) on their respective home keys.
Now comes the fun part:
Simply start by typing the Alphabet over and over; one letter at a time.
Start slowly and then you’ll notice that you are able to type the keys faster and faster.
In the beginning you’ll be looking down to locate the keys but not for long!
Each time that you type a key, move your finger back to its respective home key.
After 30 minutes, you will have developed the muscle memory to hit the correct keys without looking down.
Keep practicing and your speed will quickly improve.
This uses the same Rote learning repititon technique, that you used in school to memorise something.
Believe me this technique works, as I successfully taught my Niece how to touch type with my method and now she is a speed typist!
