We received a call yesterday from a customer saying that the “Java” icon was missing in the Control Panel of their XP computer. The customer told us that this problem seemed to happen after upgrading the version of Java that was on their computer. We concluded that there was a corruption that happened during the upgrade process resulting in the icon not be restored to the Control Panel. This issue also seems to affect Windows 7 users.
The Java “console” allows certain options to be changed for the free Java programme. Java is a programming language that shows images in your web browser.
We were able to resolve the issue by downloading and reinstalling the Java software.
